Faith International Christian Center began in Pastor Chuck Kennedy's home on the first Sunday in September
of 2002.
There was only Pastor and a couple of his children that lived with him at the time.
Pastor informed them of his new work and they came and have been faithful to the work ever since.
They soon became Associate Pastors and laborers together in the same vision.
The church began to grow so much
there was no parking in the residential area of the house so the decision was made to rent a facility
at a local motel conference room. From there we moved into a more permanent facilty located on 26th
street west.
The new facilty enabled us to be more permanent with more meetings and no moving of sound equipment, etc.
Although a small 1000 square foot storefront, we made use of what we had to work with.
As the need for childrens ministry
increased, we faced the challenge of space! We had them meet in the small church office which could really
only hold a couple children comfortably, but sometimes we packed 6 or 7 in there!
Without question the time had come to expand and move again in order to have more space for childrens church as well as storage and general needs. That is when we moved to our present storfront location in the Albertsons shopping plaza on the corner or Manatee Ave and 75th Street West.
Here we have about 1800 square feet so we are able to house our children comfortably as well as more people in the sanctuary and general facilities.
The church has grown from the pastor and his children, to a thriving congregation of around 40 to 50 faithful
believers each Sunday.
We have increased from no praise and worship to a few hymms led by Pastor Flo, to a wonderful praise
team that ministers each service.
We have begun and support 4 churches in
India
as well as a childrens home, and in
Pakistan
a couple of brickyard schools. We were priviledged to be able to change a young
Philippine girl's life by repairing her clerft palate. We also support churches in
Liberia
and an orphanage there, churches in
Malawi
, an orphanage in
Guyana, South America
, and
other mission projects in many places of the world.
We are teaching the Word of Faith in order to take the Gospel to the far reaches of the earth.
