Dear Family, Friends & Ministry partners:
A blessed and Christ Centered 2008 to you.
"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health just as your soul prospers." 3rd John: 1
This is my prayer for you in this brand new year 2008.
Most people when they think of prosperity they think only of material things but how we need better health, favour with man, better relationships …. And I could go on and on. Notice I underlined prosper in all things. I will be praying that it goes beyond material things for you & your families, in 2008
On a personal note: two verses that meant a lot to me in 2007, Philippians 4: 6 & 7 "Be anxious for
nothing but in everything by prayer & supplication , with thanksgiving , let your requests be made known to God.
And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
It was a great fight not to be anxious over many things that seemed to be going wrong with the ministry as well as
personally. But God ! He has become more precious to me and has guarded my heart and mind with His amazing peace.
During the latter part of November many of you would recall, I wrote asking for prayer as I had been diagnosed with bells pal;sey which is a partial paralysis to the face or part of . This was a great discomfort but there again God gave me His peace as I cried out to him daily and it only lasted about 1 month . It cleared up completely before Christmas so that was an answer to prayer . Thanks for the encouraging emails and for forwarding my email to your friends for prayer for those who did so. It means a lot when ones knows others are praying for them. I really appreciated this .
Meanwhile , my church 's Missions conference went very well and our speakers who are from India residing in Guyana and working with IVCF were a tremendous blessing .
At Bethel, Abena has been doing a good job with the boys . She even took them on a trip to Essequibo to visit her family during the holidays and they had a blast. I think it was good for them to travel around the country abit. They had to take a speedboat up the Essequibo for 1 h our and then by bus for another 45 minutes so it was an adventure for them all but Orin our youngest who spent the holidays with his mom.
They also were invited to several parties over the holidays, our bank GBTI, Social Service Ministry and the YWAM guys had one for them as well and thanks to Faith International Christian Centre we were also able to do one and give gifts . They were blessed with many good things & gifts .
We have a lot to be thankful for at the boys home as God truly kept this ministry going for y et another year.
They are all back to school the second week now and Robin has to really work harder as he is wring school leaving exams, CXC in May . He and Roshan are presently also going through counseling which we trust God,will help them with their issues .
Heard from Peter also from the training centre . He seems to be doing well and working hard . He completes his course in May of this year. Don't yet know what are his plans after.
This year we want to focus on personally discipling each boy in the home and hopefully will get help in that area from an interested local church.
Our ultimate goal for these boys is that God's plans and purposes for their lives be established and that they
truly have a relationship with God and not just a religious life.
Finally, we were really saddened to hear of the passing of one of our oldest and faithful donors over the years, Fred Weeks . We know he loved the boys and prayed for them a lot even after his health declined a few years ago. Praise God for faithful men and servants of the most high God . We know he is around his master's throne no longer suffering but singing !
I also take this opportunity to thank all of you who pray faithfully for me and the ministry of Bethel Boys home and those who have partnered with us over 2007. We greatly appreciate your involvement whether is by prayer, encouragement or giving. And those who wish to start giving this year that also would be welcomed .
