Dear Friends,
Praise be to our Heavenly Father for His faithfulness, goodness and
mercy. Thank you for the many prayers, encouragements and support for the
work in Liberia.
Your prayers are priceless as we go forth in the name of
Jesus to show His love and declare His kingdom.
David left for Liberia on May 22nd
to spend most of the summer ministering there, but also working on the orphanage,
and the temporary church building at the promised land site for our headquarters.
Pastor Nathaniel Wilson who has been studying here in the U.S. also went to
visit his family in Liberia. He and David met in Brussels then arrived in Liberia
on May 23rd. When they arrived, they also met some Liberian friends from the
U.S. who were visiting and wanted to bless the children at the orphanage.
The children in the orphanage are all growing and enjoying the
summer. Due to the heavy daily rains, the water table is too high to work on the
well and septic tank.
But they are collecting rain water to use for
drinking. Please pray that we will be able to work on the well and septic
issues in December when David returns to Liberia. A special party was hosted for the
children by the Chairman of the Tampa Bay Liberian Community, and another
member Lawrence Sekajipo. Additionally, the adoption was completed for one
of our children in June, and she is with her new family in the U.S. Please
pray for the children that they will know the Lord, but also the children over 18
are to be resettled by the government, and in August, we need to pay tuition
and have uniforms made for the children.
The sanctuary building at the promised land site is almost finished.
About two weeks ago we hosted three days of evangelistic outreach at the
site, and the program culminated with a dedication of the new temporary
building. With your help we provided financial assistance so that the village
pastors could join us for the celebration and programs. The result is that many
were saved, and many more rededicated their lives to the Lord. There
are no other churches in this area, so we ask your prayers as Pastor Brown and the
leaders reach out to the community.
Prior to the evangelistic outreach,
Pastor Wilson visited many of the village churches.
You can imagine that they
were very excited to see him again!
Please pray that we will be able to
complete the septic tank and well before David leaves at the end of this month.

David wrote a letter to the Vice President of Liberia when he
arrived in Liberia and requested a meeting.
Late one morning he received a
call that he was to meet that afternoon with the Vice President Boakai. Praising
the Lord the entire time, David rushed back to clean us and change clothes (he
was working at the construction site) to go to the meeting. They had a
blessed meeting. Please pray for the Vice President as he is a Christian
who loves the Lord. The Lord can use him to help change the country. Thank the
Lord for this divine appointment.
In spite of the successes, there are always many
challenges.
There have been constant break downs of the small car, and two
bad accidents. Thank the Lord that no one was hurt in either accident.
David had a bad cold a couple weeks ago, and two of Pastor Brown's immediate
family members passed away in the past few weeks. Pastor Wilson's wife
underwent goiter surgery earlier this week, and the Lord is healing her from the
surgery. The Lord is healing Grace and she hopes to be released from the hospital
by this weekend. Please continue to pray for her and the rest of their family.
Also pray for David as he is trying to get the dump truck back to operating condition
before he leaves Liberia, but also this weekend they plan to travel to one of
the village churches to minister to the people in the area. We ask you continuous prayers
for the David, Nathaniel, Pastor Brown, the children at the orphanage, our leaders in
Liberia, but also for our friends in the U.S. At the same time that David was
preparing to leave for Liberia, a good friend, Jack Shoemake passed away unexpectedly.
Please pray for his family as they heal from the sudden loss of this mighty man of God.
Jack loved the Lord, and generously gave to help spread the Gospel. He bought
Bibles for all of our Pastors, and helped with the kitchen facility at the new
orphanage building.
May you know the Lord's joy, peace and rest as you walk with Him. He is a
faithful God, and He calls His people to be faithful to the assignment
that He gives to them. Be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the
work of the Lord because it is not in vain. (I Cor. 15:58)
Love in Christ,
Pastor David &
