KIM'S AUGUST '07 UPDATE!

"Sister Kim, when can we come and help?"

These words have been like music to my ears this past month. Several church groups have called and asked, when they can come and help build our new building.

It has been an AMAZING season for us! My heart has been overwhelmed with excitement, awe, anticipation and thankfulness.

Never in my life have I engaged in such a project as we have in this one now. BUILDING! I know nothing of building and yet I'm overseeing this amazing work as our campus is being built before our eyes.

Our foundation has now been laid and by next week the floor will be poured! We thank God for a Baptist pastor and his church that came last week to help mix and pour cement on their own time.

A Full Gospel youth group (of young men) want to come this Monday to help finish the job! Another college and career group called and asked "when can we come… you haven't given us a date yet!"

A small team of skilled construction workers/ staff from YWAM Jamaica wrote and want to come Sept 12th and help us build! Praise God!

We also received word that all the zinc for the roof was provided and being shipped on a container!! Thanks Ben! Wow, what an amazing blessing!

Of course this takes finances. I've been amazed at some financial gifts that have come in enabling us to buy all the supplies needed. This project has cost more than I anticipated, just to lay the foundation and pour the floor. But the gifts and donations come just at the right time! Suddenly a cheque comes just at the time we need to buy more cement, steel, sand and stone. Many times tears have come to my eyes as I see the faithfulness of God through people like you who give so generously and make this all possible!

We continue to move toward our Sept 24th school!! Presently we have three families coming and one single girl from Alaska. Several applications are still out there and we may have more students.

Last weekend we hosted a youth group from Georgetown. We had a fun night, work day and a ministry time, devotion with the youth. They left at about 5pm as a Wesleyan group came through at 6pm who were staying with us as they worked with a local church here in Parika. It's been busy.

FLORIDA HERE I COME! Presently I'm preparing to go to Tampa, Florida! I was invited to speak at a missions conference in Florida and am excited to participate. In all honesty, it is also nice to take a break away from the work, a time to reflect and sit back a bit. It's been a while since stepping into a mall so I also look forward to replenishing some supplies and shopping!

WE ARE GROWING! God has blessed us with some new staff members! Emese and Karen from Canada have joined us and will be working with our school. Steve joined us last month and Ian is coming any time now. God is adding onto us! Otis and Bridgette, directors of the YWAM Suriname base will join us for the five month school and help us to run it.

God has opened up some amazing doors for Steve and Em to venture into the interior, without cost! Steve joined a team of Korean missionaries from Canada traveling close to the Brazilian border to a village called Aishalton. Steve spent a couple days in the back of an army truck which was quite the experience.

Meanwhile, Em traveled towards the Venezuelan border by boat with another pastor friend who was revisiting some church plants. It's fun to see our new staff get to experience the beauty and awesomeness of Guyana's interior! I must admit though, it was hard to stay back and let them go! I'm usually the first one on the boat!! Ha

It's a good season for us and we are ever in the 'thankful' mode. Yes we still are a long way from completing the building, we still do need money to keep the building project going. We are thankful for the $3,000 that just came in! It has almost all been spent! We are trusting God for at least $5,000 and press on to see this building

This new building will serve as staff housing, our kitchen and guest rooms. Thus far the floor has been laid and the walls are about to go up.

Thanks once again for your prayers, support and encouragement, it is greatly appreciated!

Blessings & love

For Him,

Kim
